Linden shooting leaves driver dead; woman in custody

On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at about 15:00 hrs along Half Mile Public Road, Wismar, Linden, 27-year-old driver Amar Jones of One Mile, Wismar was fatally shot.

According to a police report, Jones was travelling in a motor canter along the roadway when he was approached by a motor car.

An unidentified male reportedly exited the vehicle and discharged several rounds in Jones’ direction before re-entering the car and fleeing the scene.

Police ranks who responded to the report found the victim slumped and motionless in the driver’s seat of the motor canter.

He was transported to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor on duty.

The body was later taken to the G-Jetsco Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.

As part of the investigation, a 24-year-old woman of Amelia’s Ward, Linden, was arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with inquiries.

A motor vehicle believed to be connected to the incident was also seized and is being processed as evidence.

Investigations are ongoing.
