Mark Abrams, a 54-year-old resident of Kaglang Dam, West Bank Demerara, a father of two, is among the persons who were onboard the distressed MV Barima, which sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while travelling from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.

His relative, Sophia Indarjit, told BIG Smith News Watch that Abrams travelled on the vessel for work, where he sold items such as vegetables.

Indarjit said the family is hoping for any information regarding Abrams’ whereabouts following the sinking of the MV Barima.
