Reana Douglas confirmed the devastating findings of a recent post-mortem examination, which concluded that her brother, Gavin Douglas died from severe head injuries resulting from blunt-force trauma after being in the custody of the police at the Vreed en Hoop police station.

The autopsy report further revealed that Douglas suffered blunt force to the abdomen, which caused his intestines to burst.

Information surrounding the attack indicates that the man was subject to being tasered and beaten.

According to Reana, family members have shared the immense difficulty of staying calm while coping with what they firmly assert was a deliberate murder.

Relatives continue to push for clear answers and swift accountability from investigating authorities.

Douglas’s death has prompted an investigation that has resulted in an inspector and three other ranks being placed under close arrest.

Douglas, of Crane Housing Scheme, was reportedly found frothing at the mouth in his cell and later pronounced dead at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.

BIG Smith News Watch has confirmed that ranks tasered Douglas twice during a confrontation after he reportedly threw faeces at them and rubbed it on them.

They claimed they eventually restrained him and placed him in a cell.

His family has questioned the circumstances surrounding his death, particularly after reportedly finding his hands secured behind his back with plastic restraints at the hospital.
