‘Q Man’ Accused in $153.9M Larceny Investigation

Police have launched an investigation into an alleged case of Larceny by Clerk or Servant involving more than $153.9 million in losses to a telecommunications company.

The offence, valued at $153,922,971 Guyana currency, was allegedly committed by 37-year-old Quincy Baird called ‘Q Man’ of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara.

 

According to police, the alleged acts occurred over an extended period between July 1, 2021 and February 18, 2025.

On Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at about 16:33 hrs, ranks from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters conducted an operation along the East Bank Demerara, during which the suspect was contacted in relation to the allegations. He was informed of the matter, arrested, and escorted to CID Headquarters.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
