Businessman stabbed to death by reputed wife

Woman takes her life after checking into short-time hotel

The police in Mabaruma, Region 1 this afternoon,  arrested a 44-year-old woman after she stabbed her reputed husband, 49-year-old Colin Campbell during an argument that erupted as two were taking part in a drinking spree with others.

It is unclear what really caused the argument but based on what this publication was told, as the argument got more heated, the woman picked up a knife and stabbed her reputed husband to his side causing him to collapse in the process. We were told that the victim operates a business in Region 1.

Police detectives said that incident took place just after 17:30hours. After the man collapsed, the police were informed and they visited the scene along with a doctor who pronounced the businessman dead right at the location.

The woman was then escorted to the police station but not before being told of the offense she committed. This publication was told that the woman did not deny the fact that she stabbed the man while she was under the influence.

The murder weapon has also been recovered by the police. A post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted to determine the actual cause of death.
