First Lady Commissions Independence Park in Region Two

March 16 2025- Residents of Region Two now have a new public recreational space with the commissioning of Independence Park in Anna Regina.

The park, developed under the National Beautification Project, fulfills a promise made to the community to create well-maintained, accessible spaces that enhance the quality of life for citizens.

The newly developed park features gazebos, benches, garbage receptacles, washroom facilities, and a dedicated play area equipped with swings, slides, and seesaws for children. Plans are also in place to install WiFi in the near future, ensuring modern connectivity for visitors.

Speaking on the significance of the project, the Office of the First Lady emphasized that the park is more than just a leisure space—it serves as a hub for family gatherings, safe play for children, relaxation for seniors, and even employment opportunities for residents.
The initiative is part of a broader national vision to create beautiful, dignified public spaces in every town and village across the country.
The First Lady expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful completion of the project, including the residents of Region Two, whose support was instrumental in bringing the vision to life. The Independence Park stands as a symbol of community pride and investment in the well-being of future generations.
