Traffic Ranks Conduct Road Safety Lecture at Mocha Access Road

August 25, 2025 – Traffic ranks from Regional Division 4B on Monday conducted a short but impactful road safety lecture for drivers along the Mocha Access Road, East Bank Demerara.
The recent exercise sought to remind motorists of their responsibilities and the importance of safe driving practices.
Led by Inspector R. Scott, Woman Sergeant Lawrence, Woman Corporal Loncke, and Corporal Smart, the team engaged drivers on several key road safety issues. Among the points highlighted were:

Zero tolerance for speeding and racing along the roadway.

A reminder that “no trade plate” vehicles should not be driven at night.

The importance of proper maintenance of motor vehicles.

The need to obey road signs and markings at all times.

A strict warning against drinking alcohol and driving.

An overview of types of accidents and their classifications.
The initiative formed part of the Division’s continued efforts to improve road safety and reduce accidents in the community. Officers emphasized that adherence to these rules not only ensures the safety of drivers and passengers but also protects pedestrians and other road users.
Meanwhile, police reported that the Providence Station District remained quiet during the period, with no unusual incidents to note.
