Magistrate sends Automobile scammer to jail

October 18, 2024
36-YEAR-Old Omeca Primo was on Friday, October 18, 2024, charged and remanded to jail for collecting money by pretense in a well-oiled motor vehicle scam. The charges were laid under section 194 of the Criminal Law Offenses Act Chapter 8:01. Her next court appearance will be on November 08, 2024.
Prima appeared before Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty in the Georgetown Magistrates Court where the charges were read to her indictable and to which she was not required to enter a plea.
In the court, it was noted that Primo falsely pretended to thirteen persons that she was in possession of motor vehicles and was in a position to sell cars to them and those delivered on specific dates. So far, Omeca Primo has a total of GYD 11, 300,000.00 Eleven Million Three Hundred Thousand Guyana Dollars for persons. That number is expected to increase as 42 other additional persons have come forward with reports, claims, and evidence against her.
Omeca Primo has been collecting millions of cash from individuals to have vehicles delivered to them but has been failing to do so. She was arrested earlier this week.
