Two men who are accused of stealing a motorcycle on Thursday night, crashed and died while fleeing on it.

Dead are Ashton McCurdy and Mark Green. The men died after riding into a truck on the Diamond access road around 23:30hrs.

The police who initially reported the accident, later confirmed that the men earlier stole the motorcycle as it was parked at a shop in Diamond. Both McCurdy and Green who were close by, hopped onto the motorcycle CL9127 and rode away with it into their demise.

In a statement to the press, the police said the motorcycle belonged to security guard, Trevor Hunte Who resides at Grove, McCurdy and Green are also said to be from the same village.

BIG Smith News Watch also learnt that one of the dead men was wanted by the police in connection with another stolen motorcycle.

We were told that the bandit purchased a stolen motorcycle from a man who had stolen same from the premises of a businessman on the East Bank Demerara some two weeks ago.
