Trio Charged Over Forged Documents, Fraud in Region Three

Three individuals have been charged in Region Three in connection with a scheme involving obtaining by false pretence and the forgery of official documents.
The charges follow investigations by police in Regional Division Three.
The accused have been identified as Paul Watson, 49, a driver of Old Road, Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo; Parbattie Sharma, known as “Paro,” 58, a self-employed woman of Independence Street, La Grange; and Omar Rudolph, 55, a driver also of Independence Street, La Grange, West Bank Demerara.
The trio is jointly charged with Obtaining by False Pretence, contrary to Section 194 of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, along with four counts of Forgery of an Official Document under Section 245(a) of the same Act. The offences were allegedly committed against a 43-year-old businessman from La Union Public Road, West Coast Demerara between September 2024 and May 2025.
The accused appeared before His Worship Magistrate Rabindranauth Singh at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrates’ Court, where the charges were read.
They were not required to enter pleas and were each granted $300,000 bail.
The case has been adjourned to February 17, 2026.
