A man who the court heard took an underage girl fishing and raped her on a rock was on Wednesday charged and remanded to prison.

Thirty-nine-year-old Keroy Isaacs appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

He was not required to plead to the indictable charge which stated that between January 2020 and December 2020 at Kamarang, Upper Mazaruni, Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), he engaged in sexual penetration with a child under age 16.

According to information, the child told her mother what had transpired, and the mother reported the matter to the police. The matter was then investigated, and Isaacs was later arrested and charged. The accused rapist returns to court on March 14.
