Police Probing $5M Theft at GECOM

Several employees of the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) are being questioned by police in connection with the theft of approximately $5 million belonging to the agency.

According to investigators, a portion of the stolen cash was recovered from an Assistant Accounts Clerk, who has since been taken into custody.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
