Brazilian National remanded on armed robbery charge

A 28-year-old Brazilian national has been remanded to prison after being charged with robbery under arms in connection with an incident at Lethem.

 

Christians Barros Buckley, a driver of Bonfim, Brazil, appeared before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

 

Buckley was charged under Section 222(c) of the Criminal Law (Offences) Act, Chapter 8:01, for the indictable offence. He was not required to enter a plea.

 

Following the reading of the charge, the court ordered that he be remanded to prison. The matter has been adjourned to May 13, 2026.
