Family seeks answers on crew member after MV Barima sinks

Trevon Sam, a resident of Mandela Avenue, Georgetown, is among the crew members who were onboard the distressed MV Barima, which sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while on a voyage from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.
His cousin, Malinda Mohamed, told BIG Smith News Watch that the family has not heard from Sam since the vessel capsized and is urgently seeking information about his whereabouts.
