Omar Harris, a 55-year-old father of four from Georgetown and a well-known vendor who plies his trade in Region One, is among the passengers who were onboard the distressed MV Barima, which sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while on a voyage from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.
His sister, Nita Daniels, told BIG Smith News Watch that Harris had travelled to Georgetown to purchase supplies for his business and was returning to Region One when he boarded the MV Barima.
