The car in a turtle position in the trench

One man is dead and three other persons critical following an early Sunday Morning crash on Homestretch Avenue in Georgetown.

At this point, the names of the injured and dead are unknown to this publication.

BIG Smith News Watch was told that the car was proceeding at a fast rate of speed heading along Homestretch when the driver lost control.

A downed transformer

As a result, the car slammed into a utility pole, bringing down a transformer and power lines in the process before flipping several times.

The car eventually came to a halt in a turtle position in a trench. Public spirited citizens immediately rushed to the rescue of those who were in the vehicle.

EMTs pronounced one of the occupants of the car dead on the spot while the others were stabilised and transfer to the Georgetown Public Hospital in critical conditions.

The police are continuing their investigations into the crash.
