Khalil earns shot at PanAm Masters crown

June 14 2026
Ashley Khalil’s relentless march through the 2026 PanAm Masters Squash Championships has earned her a place in the final, where she will battle Chilean top seed Anita Pinto for the Women’s+ title today in Medellín, Colombia.
The Guyanese veteran has enjoyed a near-perfect tournament, dismantling every opponent in her path with a series of straight-game victories.
Khalil opened her campaign by defeating Nathalie Champlain of the United States 3-0 before recording another convincing 3-0 triumph against Chile’s Natalia Diaz.
The victories kept coming as she brushed aside American Grace Birmingham in the third round and then silenced local hopes with a commanding 3-0 win over Colombia’s Karina Salti in the semifinal.
Remarkably, Khalil has not dropped a single game on her journey to the championship match, underlining both her experience and consistency against a strong Pan American field.
Awaiting her in the final is Chile’s Anita Pinto, the tournament’s number one seed and arguably her biggest test of the competition. The title showdown is slated for 12:00 p.m. Colombia time, or 1:00 p.m. in Guyana.
With four dominant victories already secured, Khalil will now seek to complete an unbeaten run and secure international silverware for Guyana when she steps onto court for Sunday’s highly anticipated final.
