The Lakers prove too much for the Warriors: advances to the Western Conference Finals

History was made twice on Friday night. First, the Heat became the first time from the Play-In to advance to a conference final, then the Lakers became the 2nd team to do so, after knocking off the league-leading offensive team and defending Champions Golden State Warriors 122-101.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ size and length on defense proved to be too much for the Golden State Warriors, who collectively shot 39/103, and 13/48 from beyond the arc.
It was Anthony Davis who came out firing, as expected if the Lakers were going to win, and by the end of the first quarter, he had already amassed an almost double-double, with 10 rebounds and 9 points.
This would set the tone for a big night for Davis, who finished with 17 points and 20 rebounds for the Lakers to go along with 2 crucial blocks as the game weighed on. Austin Reaves had 23 points inclusive of a tough and-1 play over Steph Curry (who managed to be the only Warrior that showed up offensively besides Dante DiVincenzo) late in the game as the Lakers knock off the Warriors in 6 games, meanwhile, Lebron added 32 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists.
Steph Curry finished with a game-high 32 points while DiVincenzo added 16 points off the bench of the Warriors, and were the only Warriors to hit double-digit in points.
Poole, Klay, and Wiggins went for a dismal 21 total points on 37 total attempts encapsulating a horrible shooting night for the Warriors. The Lakers will now turn their attention to the Denver Nuggets, whom they face in the Western Conference Finals commencing Tuesday night (16th May 2023).
