Mechanic on $35K Bail for Threatening Father

August 5 2025
A 45-year-old mechanic was released on $35,000 bail after being hauled before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for allegedly threatening his father.
Fizul Mohamed, of Lot 9 West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, appeared before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore on Monday to answer to four charges stemming from a July 31, 2025 incident.
Mohamed denied three of the allegations, which stated that at the said address, he used threatening and abusive language and exhibited threatening behavior toward his father, Hazrat Mohamed.
However, he pleaded guilty with an explanation to a fourth charge—demanding four louvre windows valued at $3,000, which were the property of his father.
For the charges to which he pleaded not guilty, bail was set at $10,000 each.
Additionally, he was fined $5,000 for the property damage.
