Hope Resident Charged with Rape

Parmeshawar Jacobs,20 also called Akeem, a Labourer of Lot 377 Hope Estate East Coast Demerara, has been charged with the rape of a child under 16 years old.
The alleged incident occurred between February 1 and February 28 at Hope Estate, ECD, where Jacobs is accused of sexually penetrating a minor.
Jacobs appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce today (September 6 2024 )at the Vigilance Magistrates’ Court, where he was represented by attorney Bernard Da Silva.
He was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charge.
Bail was granted in the sum of $300,000, with conditions including the surrender of his passport and mandatory reporting to the Cove and John Police Station on the last Friday of every month.
The case has been adjourned to October 15, 2024, for the presentation of statements.
