40 De Endragt Residents Receive Land Titles

Forty residents of De Endragt (Mon Repos North), East Coast Demerara, received land titles for their properties today, (September 6, 2024) following a commitment made by President Dr. Irfaan Ali.
The titles were distributed less than two months after the President’s visit to the community, where he pledged to address the long-standing issue of residents living without formal ownership of their land.

Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, speaking on behalf of President Ali, who was unable to attend, assured the community that many developmental projects are in the pipeline, responding to residents’ requests.
He emphasized the government’s dedication to ensuring that citizens live comfortably and have opportunities for homeownership.
Minister of Housing and Water Collin Croal provided additional details, noting that 67 lots had been surveyed, with 40 qualifying for titles thus far.
He highlighted the government’s commitment to enabling homeownership and urged residents to use their titles as collateral to secure their properties and improve their living conditions.
