Police appear to be  having more success in rounding up the gang behind the May 13 killing of Johnson Bowen and Manuel De Santos and the wounding of Denzil Roberts.

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told Big Smith News Watch that a third suspect was arrested today in Region Five during an intelligence-led operation.

He is the third individual to be detained.

One of the suspects, Shadwin Semple, was charged with murder and remanded today.

Semple was captured in a house at Wismar, Linden, where the body of his alleged accomplice, Anthony Dennis, was also found.

Also in custody is 30-year-old Troy Bruce, called ‘Blacka’, who surrendered to police  shortly after a wanted bulletin was issued for him. A similar bulletin was also issued for John Ross, called ‘JR’, whose last known address was given as Five Corner, Linden.

Johnson Bowen, a pensioner and Manuel De Santos, a gold miner, were shot dead while reportedly trying to fend off three armed men who had invaded their home at Block 22, Wismar.

Denzil Roberts, 20, was shot in the face after he came to their aid.

He remains in critical condition.
