Decomposed Body Discovered at Henrietta

Police in Regional Division No. 2 (Pomeroon/Supenaam) are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found today in Henrietta, Essequibo Coast.
The discovery was reported at approximately 9:40 AM by a 64-year-old resident of Henrietta.
The resident, disturbed by a foul odor emanating from an abandoned house located north of his yard, decided to investigate.
Upon doing so, he discovered the decomposing body of a male, which was already infested with flies and worms.
Officers from the Divisional Headquarters in Anna Regina, along with crime scene technicians, quickly responded to the scene. The body, found to be approximately 60 percent decomposed, was photographed and subsequently transported to the Suddie Public Hospital. There, it was officially pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
The body has been transferred to the Suddie Hospital Mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination. Initial reports indicate that the deceased was a man without a fixed place of residence.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
