Truck Accident Claims Life of Cyclist at Goed Intent

A 50-year-old pedal cyclist was killed on Friday afternoon after being run over by a truck along the Goed Intent Public Road, West Bank Demerara.
The victim, identified as Mahadai Harriram, a labourer of Goed Intent, was reportedly riding alongside the truck around 3:00 p.m. when the handlebar of his bicycle became entangled with the container the truck was transporting. This caused him to lose control and fall onto the roadway, where he was crushed by one of the truck’s rear wheels.
Narine died on the spot. His body was later transported to the Ezekiel Funeral Home.
Police are currently questioning the truck driver as investigations into the incident continue.
