MV BARIMA: Mother and children were heading to visit relatives

Rachael Matabheek and her three children, who hail from Bush Lot Village, West Coast Berbice, were among passengers on board the sunken MV Barima, which went down between Saturday night and Sunday morning, July 18 and 19.

Magdalene Ajodhia, a cousin-in-law of Rachael, told BIG Smith News Watch that a total of seven of the family members were heading to Port Kaituma to visit relatives.
She said that while three of the relatives have since been rescued, they have received no word from the rescue center about the fate of Rachael and her three children thus far.
