Police have confirmed that a decomposed body that they have retrieved moments ago is that of accident victim Reonol Williams.

A source told the Big Smith News Watch that the body was retrieved near a Koker at Colidgen, East Coast Demerara (ECD).Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum said the owner of the car which struck the man down on May 23, 2022, took the police to the location of the body.

The owner of the Toyota Fielder Wagon, Daniel Melbourne that struck down Williams 15 days ago was rearrested on Monday after ranks from the Major Crimes Investigation Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department took over the probe.

Melbourne had alleged that a cousin took his car without his permission on the night of the accident.

The car which was found abandoned remains impounded.
