Trio join wife of murdered West Berbice man in custody

MURDERED: Mohamed Haniff of Experiment, West Coast Berbice

The 44-year-old wife of murdered taxi driver Mohamed Haniff of Experiment, West Coast Berbice arrested by the police in connection with the robbery-murder at their home in which three masked men entered the dwelling, battered her husband and left without taking anything.

Police detectives from the Major Crime Unit was able to quickly discern the holes and inconsistencies in the woman’s story and have taken her into custody and what they learn was shocking.

BIG Smith News Watch was told that based on initial investigations, the woman is in financial difficulties and went behind her husband’s back and pawn their matrimonial home.

The persons she reportedly pawned the house have been constantly called the woman and told her that if she did not pay them what is owed to them, they will move in and seize the house.

On Friday night while her son was out, she reportedly set up men to invade her house while she and her husband were at home alone. Before the bandits showed up at the house, the woman called her son to see where he was and he said to her that he was going to be at home within a half-hour. It was within that half-hour that she give the bandits the go-ahead to move in and launch the assault on her husband.

During the robbery, she failed to raise any alarm so that neighbors can have come to their rescue. She also did not inform the neighbors of the crime even after the men had left nor did she call the police. It was only after the son came home that he heard his father groaning and took him to the hospital, nothing was taken from the house.

When the detectives visited the home and searched the premises, the found approximately eight thousand United States Dollars under a bed, that money has since been lodged as evidence.
