Rejected abuser shoots mother of three

Twenty Eight Year Devlin Garraway who was shot earlier today by her reputed husband had for some time now been struggling to get away from the arms of the abusive man.

Speaking with BIG Smith News Watch on Wednesday, her father Leon Robinson said that his daughter had earlier spoken to him about getting out of the abusive relationship she shared with the suspect Julian Arthur who is presently on the run.

“I was going up the road and my nephew called me and said, Uncle, Devlin dead, somebody shoot her. I call my big daughter and we rush down to the hospital but didn’t get to see her” her father related.

According to information reaching this publication, the woman is said to be nursing a gunshot wound to the head and is said to be in a critical condition. The incident according to relatives took place at Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice.

Arthur had earlier in the day visited the home of the woman where she lived with her three children, an argument reportedly ensued between the two and it was at that point that the suspect became furious and shot her.

He immediately fled the scene after the shooting, forcing the Guyana Police Force to immediately issue an arrest warren for him in connection with attempted murder.

Julian Arthur is wanted by the police in relation to Attempted Murder committed on Devilin Garraway on July 1st, 2020 at Union # 30 Village, West Coast Berbice.
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest Julian Arthur is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 333-2151, 333-5564, 333-3876, 226-6978, 225-8196, 226-2870, 226-7065, 227-1149, 226-7065, 911 or the nearest police station.
All information will be treated with the strictest confidence.

The woman who bleed profusely from her head after collapsing to the ground following the gunshot, was picked up and rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital where she was stabilized and then transferred to the New Amsterdam Hospital.

Leonie Robertson, sister of the injured woman told this publication that she received a call about the development around noon on Wednesday and raced to the hospital. She was however unable to see her sister.

The police are continuing their investigations into the matter even as the suspect continues to be hunted.
