Ron Roberts’ family home at 64 Hadfield Street collapsed yesterday afternoon at approximately 5:30 PM.

According to Robert’s the tremor, which occurred on Saturday night, caused a mango tree to fall against the house, compromising its stability.

Roberts noticed that one of the house’s posts was displaced the morning after the tremor but did not anticipate the extent of the damage. The fallen tree continued to exert pressure on the structure, leading to the house’s sudden collapse.

Eight people, including six children, lived in the house. At the time of the collapse, six residents were inside, but fortunately, no one was injured. The Roberts family is now seeking public assistance to rebuild their home, which is family property
