Court Overrules Paul Slowe’s No-Case Submission in Sexual Assault Matter

Former Assistant Commissioner of Police, Paul Slowe, has been called upon to lead a defence in his ongoing sexual assault case after Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore overruled a no-case submission made by his legal team.

The ruling was delivered today at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, where Magistrate Azore stated that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against Slowe. The matter has been adjourned to October 2025, at which time the defendant is expected to present his defence.

Slowe is facing a charge of sexual assault, contrary to Section 4(3) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03. The charge arises from a complaint filed by a female police officer who alleged that Slowe sexually assaulted her on three separate occasions between March and April 2019 at the Police Headquarters in Eve Leary.

The prosecution is being led by Senior Police Legal Advisor and Attorney-at-Law Mandel Moore, while Slowe is being represented by Attorneys Nigel Hughes, Dexter Todd, and Dawn Cush.

The case, which dates back to charges laid on October 15, 2021, continues to draw public attention as it proceeds through the judicial system.
