“Enquiries disclosed that motorcar # PYY 9539 was proceeding east along the northern side of the said road at a fast rate of speed when the front portion of the said car collided with the rear of the motor lorry” part of the police statement issued on Friday stated.

At approximately 19:30hrs Thursday night, the 27 year old policeman who is stationed at the North Ruimveldt Police Outpost and a resident of Perseverance Housing Scheme was killed on the spot  .

The police stated that motor lorry GAB-8376 driven by a 27 years of lot 65 Hadfield Street Werk-en-Rust Georgetown, was stationary on the side of the road with its lights on.

A hire car, HC-2865 driven by a 30 year old of lot 73 Inner Bagotville West Bank Demerara and motorcar PYY 9539 owned and driven by the deceased became involved in an accident.

As a result of the collision, PYY 9539 ended up on the southern side of the said road where it collided with the right side rear door of HC 2865 which was proceeding west along the southern side of the road.

The police further stated that Constable Magloire received injuries about his body and was pronounced dead at the scene by doctor Cameron from the EMT.
