Horse cart operator nabbed with gun

A 22-Y-O man was on Wednesday chased and apprehended by the police while Susex Street after he was seen acting in a suspicious manner.

Police sources indicated that just after 15:hrs on Wednesday, ranks on patrol observed Malcom Howes walking but acting in a suspicious manner then started running.

Two of the police exited the patrol and gave chase behind the suspect and he was cornered in a lumber yard where he was asked to identify and subject himself to a search.

That search discovered that the 22 year old Horse Cart Operator of Lot 103 Middle Road LaPenitence had in his possession, one pistol with its serial number intact while a further searched found an extended magazine.

The man admitted to the police that he was not the holder of a firearm license. He was taken into custody as the investigations continue.
