man dies after riding motorcycle without headlamp into car

The motorcycle Willis was riding at the time

A motorcyclist was killed on Saturday evening when he rode his motorcycle into the path of a car which traveling in the opposite direction on the Ituni Trail.

BIG Smith News Watch was informed that Godfrey Willis of Goat Farm Ituni who is now dead, was riding his motorcycle CG 8386 without any headlights at the time of the accident.

It is reported that at approximately 19:00hrs while on the trial, Willis slammed into motorcar PPP 651 which was being driven 47 year old mechanic Wallace Jones of Kwakwani Park, Berbice River, Upper Demerara River.

The motorcycle according to police sources, crashed into the front left side of the motorcar causing Willis to fall on the roadway, receiving injuries in the process.

He was picked up and rushed to the Ituni Health Centre where he was seen and examined by a Medex who pronounced him dead on arrival.

The police are continuing their investigations into the incident.
