Man charged for murdering businessman/ employee at No. 63 Beach hotel

The Director of Public Prosecution has recommended murder charges against 46-year-old Alvin Druean of No. 65 Village Corentyne Berbice while deliberations are still being made on what changes (if any) would be brought against a 16-year-old who also confessed to the crime

Today Druean on Monday appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan charged with the capital offense committed against Vivekanand Narpatty and Harry Persaud- Parshad sometime between December 19 and 27, 2019 at Sun Splash Hotel at the No. 63 Beach, Corentyne Berbice.

In court today, the police prosecutor related that he is not yet in possession of the file that speaks to the mater. The accused is scheduled to make his next court appearance at the No. 51 Magistrate Court on February 12, 2020.

One week ago, detective of the Major Crimes Investigative Unit cracked the case after securing confessions from the teen and Druean who also lead them to the murder weapon a phone which belonged to the businessman.

The confession came as the detectives questioned the two along with four other persons after detectives were able to come by additional information in relation to the crime.

The badly decomposed remains of the businessman and his worker were found at the hotel with some amount of amputation done them. The businessman place which had not been in operation for a while was slated to undergo some amount of repairs based on what family members indicated to police detectives.
