Within hours after a senior police detective was ordered transferred out of the police ‘E’ Division and with the entrance of the Major Crimes and Tactical Service Units from Georgetown, the police seems to have dealt a major blow to an ongoing gang and turf war which has been ongoing in the division since January of this year. the move also comes as members of both gangs fingered the detective of being an ally of either side. The police operation which last for six hours saw fourteen young men in Linden being arrested and a number of items confiscated including parts of the Guyana Defense Force uniform. Police detective removed after being fingered in gang wars, Investigation launched

BIG Smith Crime Watch has been informed that an operation on Thursday morning headed by a Detective Inspector and several others ranks in McKenzie and Wismar saw the arrest of men.

Those arrested have been identified as Rodwell Fraser 20 of 255 Amelia’s Ward Linden. He is being investigated for arson and possession of military paraphernalia including two camouflage shirts.

Uriel Lewis 28 of 464 South Amelia’s Ward Linden. He is being investigated for arson and possession of narcotics.

Lennox Eswick called ‘Matthew’ 23 of 640 South Amelia’s Ward Linden. He is being investigated for possession of military paraphernalia and six suspected incendiary devices.

Orin Valladares 33 of 88 Buxton Side Line Dam, East Coast Demerara. Samuel France 26 of 646 South Amelia’s Ward Linden, Leslie France 22 of 464 South Amelia’s Ward Linden, Mark France 19 of South Amelia’s Ward Linden, Rodwell Wilson 25 of 1271 Central Amelia’s Ward Linden, Jamin Lewis 23 of 111 Tuckburg Park, New Amsterdam Berbice, Lennox Oniel Estwick 20 of 640 South Amelia’s Ward Linden, Lennox Blackman 30 of 13 South Amelia’s Ward Linden and Marvin Fraser 20 of 227 South Amelia’s Ward Linden. They have all being investigated for the offence of arson.

Adrian Webster called ‘Dutchin’ 20 of 26 Canvas City Wismar Linden is being investigated for possession of narcotics and unlawful possession of a motorcycle while Sheldon St. John called ‘Yankee’ 36 years of G-31 Canvas City Wismar Linden is being investigated for unlawful possession of a motorcycle and fraudulent imitation of an Identification Mark.

Police sources have indicated that the operation is a direct result and spin-off of the ongoing gang wars between the ‘Mob Family’ and a gang being headed by ex-policeman Teon Allen called ‘Spoil Child’

The members of these gangs have been at war since early January and of late things escalated with them battling for turf rights. There is at least one police woman who is also said to be in the mix up between the entire ongoing.

Earlier this week, Commissioner of Police Leslie James was briefed on the matter and as a consequence, a senior police detective whose name is also being called as part of what has been taking place in Linden was ordered relief of his post.
