June 5, 2025 – East Coast Demerara: A 21-year-old fisherman known as “Scarface” has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of break-and-enter-and-larceny.

Ryan Sookdeo, of Lusignan, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on June 1, 2025, and formally charged yesterday.

The charge stems from an incident on the same date at the Non-Pariel residence of Samantha Jairam, a 32-year-old woman, where Sookdeo unlawfully entered the dwelling and committed theft.

He appeared before Senior Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court, where he admitted to the offence. Following his guilty plea, Sookdeo was handed a three-year prison sentence.
