Murder Suspect Escaped Vreed-en-Hoop Scene in Minibus, Vehicle Impounded

Police at the Vreed-en-Hoop Station are questioning the son of a Venezuelan national who allegedly stabbed Toralpher Simon Harry to death on Sunday, August 24.
Investigators have since impounded the minibus used in the suspect’s getaway. According to information reaching detectives, the suspect initially drove the vehicle from the crime scene before handing over the wheel to his son, the suspect reportedly exited in the vicinity of Coglan Dam, West Bank Demerara.
Harry, a GWI porter of Best Village, West Coast Demerara, had gone to a hot dog stand in Vreed-en-Hoop with a friend when he became involved in an altercation with the Venezuelan suspect.
During the struggle, Harry was reportedly stabbed in the neck. He collapsed at the scene as his assailant escaped in the waiting bus, which was seen heading east toward the Vreed-en-Hoop junction.
The 27-year-old was rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Detectives are continuing their investigations as they work to locate and apprehend the alleged killer.
