Nineteen-year-old Prakash Ramnauth, also known as ‘Bobin’, of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, has been formally charged with the offence of Break-and-Enter and Larceny following an incident that occurred earlier this year.

The charge stems from an alleged break-in that took place between March 10 and 11, 2025, at Unity, Mahaica. The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Anjalie Ramnauth, a housewife and poultry farmer from the same community.

Ramnauth was arrested on March 17, 2025, and subsequently charged on April 7.

The accused appeared before His Worship A. Wilson at the Mahaicony Magistrate’s Court on April 7, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge. He was granted bail in the sum of $50,000.

The matter has been adjourned to July 25, 2025, for continuation.
