A 26-year-old labourer from Wortmanville was remanded to prison today after being charged with larceny from the person.

Romell Paris of Princess Street, Wortmanville, appeared at the Diamond/Golden Grove Magistrate’s Court where the charge was formally read to him.

Paris is accused of robbing Jermain Matter on June 4, 2025, in the vicinity of the Demerara Harbour Bridge at Bagotstown.

During the court proceedings before Magistrate Dylon Bess, Paris pleaded not guilty. Bail was denied, and he was remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to June 20, 2025, for the presentation of statements.
