Police have arrested a miner who was wanted in connection with a murder in Linden and is also a key suspect in a separate fatal stabbing at Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
The suspect, Travis Brewster, also known as “Turpin,” of Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden, was arrested on Monday, January 26, 2026, at about 15:35 hrs at 14 Mile, Issano Landing, Region Seven, where a wanted bulletin had been issued for his capture.
Brewster is wanted in relation to the murder of Ron Clarke, which occurred in Linden on July 17, 2025. He is also the prime suspect in the murder of 38-year-old Emanuel Williams, also called “Chiny,” a gold miner of Second Avenue, Bartica, who was fatally stabbed at Issano Landing on Friday, January 23, 2026.

According to police, Williams was at a bar in the area around 23:30 hrs when he became involved in an altercation with a male suspect, during which he sustained a stab wound to the chest. He was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s body was escorted to the Bartica Regional Hospital, where it awaited a post-mortem examination.
A post-mortem was conducted on Monday, January 26, 2026, by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The cause of death was determined to be perforation of the lung and heart due to a stab wound to the chest. The body was subsequently handed over to relatives for burial.
Brewster remains in police custody as investigations into both the Linden murder and the Issano Landing fatal stabbing continue.
