A man is dead and several vehicles damaged following an accident At Montrose,  East Coast Demerara.

The cleaning company’s vehicle which the car slammed into from behind

During a visit to the scene just after 17:00hrs on Saturday, multiple persons confirmed that the ill-fated car along with another was racing when one of the cars lost control and slammed into a vehicle belonging to a cleaning company.

Another damaged vehicle

As a result of that impact, the vehicle which belonged to the cleaning company suffered a blowout and careened into a parked vehicle and there was a ripple effect which resulted in a number of other park cars being damaged.

On the accident scene, relatives of the deceased showed up and could be heard and seen crying as the remains of the young man lay lifeless on the roadway with his face covered.

The deceased was said to be a passenger in the front seat of the car while the other car which was racing along with it fled the scene.

The police are continuing their investigations into this development.
