The Government of Guyana, through the Ministry of Home Affairs Immigration Support Services, proudly welcomed 39 individuals from 13 countries as new Guyanese citizens in a celebration of multiculturalism and unity.

Two ceremonies, held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and Wednesday, April 17, 2024, marked the occasion as these individuals received their registration and naturalization certificates of Guyanese citizenship.

Robeson Benn, Minister of Home Affairs; Mr. Andre Ally, Permanent Secretary; Ms. Michelle Davis, Head of Immigration Support Services; and Mr. Stephen Telford, Deputy Chief Immigration Officer, were among those in attendance.

Minister Benn emphasized Guyana’s rich multicultural identity, highlighting the importance of embracing diversity and leveraging each other’s strengths for national prosperity. He stressed unity and collaboration as essential for building a better Guyana for all citizens.

Furthermore, Minister Benn urged the new citizens to seize all available opportunities in Guyana.

In his remarks, Mr. Andre Ally echoed Minister Benn’s sentiments, emphasizing the crucial role of unity and cooperation in forging a prosperous future for all. He reminded the new citizens of their responsibility to uphold the nation’s laws and integrate into Guyanese society while adhering to the country’s laws.

Following the ceremony, the recipients were presented with their certificates and adorned with the Guyana flag, symbolizing their integration into the diverse culture of Guyanese society.

The Government of Guyana extends its warmest congratulations to the new citizens and reaffirms its commitment to fostering an inclusive and vibrant nation
