CCTV shows dad carrying missing son, then returning alone

Police investigating the disappearance of six-year-old Orlando Jaikarran may be closing in on answers after obtaining CCTV footage reportedly showing the child walking with his father before the man later returned alone.

The footage shows Bhartat Jaikarran, also known as “Vijai”, walking with Orlando on Thursday, October 15. Separate footage reportedly shows the father returning without the child.

The development raises further questions about the circumstances surrounding Orlando’s disappearance, particularly as his father has maintained that he last saw the child on the night of Wednesday, October 14.

Jaikarran reportedly told investigators that Orlando, whom relatives call “Lil Boy”, went to bed with two of his siblings at around 21:00 hrs on Wednesday. He claimed that he only learned the following day, through another son, that the six-year-old was missing.

However, a woman familiar with the family reportedly told investigators that she saw Orlando walking along the Bath Public Road at around 06:00 hrs on Thursday.

BIG Smith News Watch understands that Jaikarran, who remains in police custody, had attempted to implicate two other villagers in the child’s disappearance. The two individuals were subsequently detained.

Orlando lives with his 46-year-old father, a labourer, and his three siblings.

The missing child is approximately three feet tall, dark in complexion and has short hair. He was reportedly last seen wearing brown short pants and a cream-coloured T-shirt.

Investigators are continuing their efforts to establish what happened to the six-year-old and determine his whereabouts.
