54-Y-O MV Barima crew member still missing

Orin Anthony Clarke, a 54-year-old resident of New Amsterdam, is among the persons who were onboard the distressed MV Barima, which sank off the coast of Essequibo between July 18 and 19, 2026, while travelling from Georgetown to Port Kaituma.
His niece, Ronnela Sealey, told BIG Smith News Watch that Clarke worked on the vessel. She said the family contacted the captain of the MV Barima, who confirmed that Clarke was on duty at the time of the incident.
Sealey said since then, the family has not received any further updates about Clarke’s whereabouts or condition.
“We never hear back nothing from them,” she said.
