3D Lee Hub Earns Made in Guyana Certification

3D Lee Hub has made history by becoming the first company in Guyana’s 3D printing industry to receive the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) Approved Made in Guyana Certification.

The certification grants the locally owned company the right to use the Made in Guyana Standards Mark on its 3D-printed products, formally recognising them as designed and manufactured in Guyana.

The approval covers a wide range of items produced by 3D Lee Hub, including custom models, NFC keychains, novelty items, gift products and other innovative designs.

The Made in Guyana certificate was formally presented during a handover ceremony at the GNBS Head Office in Sophia on Wednesday, January 9, 2025. The certificate was handed over to Chief Executive Officer Ackeem Thomas and Manager Chelsea Thomas in the presence of GNBS Executive Director Trevor Bassoo; Head of Certification Services, Keon Rankin; Head of Corporate Communications, Lloyd David; 3D Generalist Atio Chryst; along with GNBS Technical Officer Asha Sookoo and Administrative Clerk Faith Phillips.

Reflecting on the certification process, the 3D Lee Hub team described the journey as smooth and seamless, noting the professionalism, transparency and support provided by GNBS throughout every stage.

The company said the certification represents a significant step forward, strengthening consumer confidence, enhancing brand credibility and creating new opportunities locally and regionally. Building on this milestone, 3D Lee Hub has already set its sights on achieving GYS 901 Certification for Quality Management Systems for MSMEs, further reinforcing its commitment to quality and excellence.

Founded in 2022, 3D Lee Hub has grown from a simple idea into a nationally certified company at a time when 3D printing remains a relatively new industry in Guyana. The company says the certification represents more than recognition, symbolising creativity, innovation and the potential of local manufacturing powered by technology.

GNBS noted that the Made in Guyana Standards Mark is a registered mark designed to identify and promote locally manufactured products in both domestic and international markets, serving as a trusted symbol of quality and authenticity.

As it celebrates the achievement, 3D Lee Hub is encouraging other local businesses across all sectors to take advantage of GNBS certification programmes, describing certification as an investment in quality, growth and national pride.
