18-Year-Old Charged with Rape
Nicolas Williams, an 18-year-old resident of Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, has been charged with the rape of a minor.
Williams is accused of sexually assaulting a female student between September 1 and September 30, 2023, at Onderneeming Sand Pit.
Williams appeared before Her Worship Tamieka Clarke at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, where the charge was formally read to him.
Despite the prosecution’s objection, the court granted Williams bail set at $300,000. The bail condition mandates that Williams must not interfere with the victim or her family.
The case has been adjourned to September 26, 2024, for the disclosure of statements.
