Three arrested in Vlissingen Road Drug Bust

Officers from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) conducted a significant operation on Vlissengen Road in Georgetown, yesterday, resulting in the discovery of a mass amount of suspected cocaine.
A statement from CANU indicated that during this operation, a motor car was intercepted and searched, leading to the discovery of several brick-like parcels containing a whitish powdery substance suspected to be cocaine.
Three individuals were arrested in connection with the seizure: Joel Hodge, 44, a security guard from Urquhart Street, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, Rawle Hoyte, 52, a chef residing at Lot 47 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown, Quacy Joseph, 40, a veterinary doctor from 5th Field Cummings Lodge, Georgetown.
The suspects were escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the seized narcotic. The substance tested positive for cocaine and weighed 5.672 kilograms.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
