A 37-year-old labourer of South Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara, has been charged in connection with a wounding incident in the area earlier this month.

The accused, Jermin Summer, was charged with Felonious Wounding.

The charge stems from an alleged attack on a 40-year-old construction worker of South Vryheid, East Coast Demerara, which reportedly occurred on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Vryheid’s Lust.

Summer appeared before the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, February 12, 2026, where the charge was read to him by Magistrate Clive Nurse.

He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of two hundred thousand Guyana dollars ($200,000).

The matter has been adjourned to March 19, 2026, for further proceedings.
