Two Dead, One Injured in Angoy’s Avenue Stabbing Incident

May 5, 2025 — Detectives from Regional Division #6 are investigating a violent incident that left two men dead and a woman injured following a confrontation in Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam.
According to a police report, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 4. Dead are Shawn LeFleur and 52-year-old Leon Fordyce, both residents of Angoy’s Avenue. Injured is 44-year-old Angelisha Newyear, who was hospitalized with stab wounds to the abdomen. Her condition is reported as stable.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the incident stemmed from an argument between Newyear and a group of men, including LeFleur, Neon De Jonge, and another man identified only as “Thunder” or “Bristol.” The dispute reportedly involved threats made against Newyear’s 26-year-old son, Gregory De Jonge.
During the altercation, Newyear was stabbed, and Fordyce sustained a blow to the head. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the New Amsterdam Hospital. LeFleur was also stabbed and initially admitted to the same hospital, but succumbed to his injuries on Monday, May 5, while being transported to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Gregory De Jonge has since been arrested and remains in police custody as investigations continue. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
