“Turpin” remanded on murder charge

Travis Brewster, also known as “Turpin,” of Victory Valley, Wismar, Linden, has been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of Emmanuel Williams, also called “Chiny,” at Issano Landing, Middle Mazaruni.
Brewster, 34, appeared via Zoom before magistrate Teriq Mohamed at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court on Friday, January 30, 2026, where the indictable charge of murder, was read to him.
He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison until February 27, 2026.
Police say Brewster is also wanted in connection with the murder of Ron Clarke, which occurred in Linden on July 17, 2025.
He was arrested on Monday, January 26, 2026, at about 15:35 hrs at 14 Mile, Issano Landing, Region Seven, following the issuance of a wanted bulletin for his capture.

Emanuel Williams
According to investigators, Emanuel Williams, a 38-year-old gold miner of Second Avenue, Bartica, was fatally stabbed during an altercation at a bar in Issano Landing around 23:30 hrs on Friday, January 23, 2026. Williams sustained a stab wound to the chest and was later pronounced dead. His body was taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital pending a post-mortem examination.
A post-mortem conducted on Monday, January 26, 2026, by Government Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh determined the cause of death to be perforation of the lung and heart due to a stab wound to the chest. The body was subsequently released to relatives for burial.
